Dangote Refinery Set to Produce Premium Motor Spirit in September

Devaakumar Edwin, Vice President of Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, has confirmed that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery will begin producing Premium Motor Spirit in the first week of September 2024. Edwin’s announcement followed a positive assessment tour by a group of engineers. The Nigerian Academy of Engineering (NAE) praised the refinery for its use of world-class technology and adherence to high engineering standards.

NAE President, Prof. Rahamon Adisa Bello, who was represented by the past president Prof. Azikiwe Onwualu, commended the refinery’s compliance with European Union standards. Bello emphasized the importance of adhering to these standards to ensure product quality.

President of COREN, Sadiq Zubair, highlighted the role of local engineers in the project, noting that their involvement would enhance their competence and impact the sector positively. Nigerian Society of Engineers President, Mrs. Margaret Oguntala, described the refinery as a major investment with state-of-the-art technology, offering hope for improvements in Nigeria’s industry.
