Crude oil prices increased by 4% due to rising fuel consumption in the United States, coinciding with Hurricane Milton’s approach toward Florida. Ongoing concerns regarding potential disruptions in oil supply from the Middle East continue to influence market dynamics. As of now, Brent crude futures have climbed by $2.82, or 3.7%, reaching $79.40 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude has risen by $2.61, or 3.6%, to $75.85.
Earlier this month, crude oil prices experienced an uptick following Iran’s launch of over 180 missiles toward Israel on October 1. The situation escalated fears of potential retaliation from Israel targeting Iranian oil facilities. Although prices stabilized this week, investors remain vigilant, especially after remarks from Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, who warned that any actions against Iran could be lethal and unexpected.
