Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have announced that petrol and diesel prices across major Indian cities will remain unchanged, despite fluctuations in the global market. Updated daily at 6 a.m., these prices reflect variations in crude oil costs and exchange rates, providing consumers with timely information on fuel expenses.

As of October 30, 2024, the revised fuel rates are as follows:

Delhi: Petrol – Rs 94.72/litre, Diesel – Rs 87.62/litre

Mumbai: Petrol – Rs 103.44/litre, Diesel – Rs 89.97/litre

Bengaluru: Petrol – Rs 102.86/litre, Diesel – Rs 88.94/litre

Crude oil prices significantly influence petrol and diesel costs, as these fuels are derived from crude oil. India’s position as one of the largest importers of crude oil means that domestic fuel prices are closely linked to the exchange rate between the Indian rupee and the US dollar.

Furthermore, the final fuel price is heavily affected by taxes imposed by both the central and state governments, which vary across different states.
