On June 3, the environment ministry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed that it has been approached by local enterprise Val-Brana with a formal request to conduct a preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the proposed establishment of the 0.9 MW hydropower plant Rijeka, situated in the municipality of Vitez.
In a notification released on Friday, the ministry informed the public about the opportunity to review the request and provide feedback within a designated period of 30 days from the date of announcement.
It is important to note that the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina constitutes one of the two autonomous entities composing Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the other being the Serb Republic.
