Drone Strike Causes Fire at Oil Depot in Russia’s Tambov Oblast

by Yuki

A drone strike ignited a fire at an oil depot in Russia’s Tambov Oblast, confirmed Governor Maksym Yegorov on June 28. The incident occurred at 4:35 a.m. local time, resulting in a localized fire described by Yegorov as “small.”

Emergency responders are currently at the scene working to extinguish the fire, with no reported casualties, according to the governor. Residents of the nearest settlement, located 3 kilometers away, are on standby for evacuation if necessary.

The attack is part of a broader pattern of Ukrainian military actions targeting Russia’s oil infrastructure in recent months. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) had previously carried out a drone strike on the Platonovskaya oil depot in Tambov Oblast during an overnight operation on June 20.
