The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) is intensifying efforts to ensure the fair and efficient distribution of targeted diesel subsidy assistance to the Orang Asli community. Collaborating closely with district Orang Asli development officers (PKOAD), JAKOA aims to eliminate any potential discrepancies in the subsidy allocation process.
“This initiative is crucial in alleviating the financial burden of fuel expenses on the Orang Asli community, supporting their daily and economic activities,” highlighted JAKOA in a recent statement. The assistance extends beyond those covered under the BUDI Agri-Komoditi and BUDI Individu categories, encompassing a broader spectrum of eligible individuals.
Acknowledging the geographical challenges faced by remote Orang Asli settlements, JAKOA is refining its payment mechanisms to ensure accessibility and efficiency. Acting as a facilitating agency, JAKOA underscores its commitment to enhancing the well-being and livelihoods of the Orang Asli community.
The distribution of diesel fuel subsidy assistance commenced on June 30, following the submission of applications by eligible beneficiaries. Moreover, JAKOA has welcomed the government’s introduction of the MADANI Subsidy Assistance (BUDI MADANI) programme. This initiative provides a monthly financial aid of RM200 to eligible groups, including individual private vehicle owners, small-scale farmers, and smallholders.
Under the BUDI Individu category, private diesel vehicle owners meeting specified criteria can apply, while small-scale farmers and smallholders are eligible under the BUDI Agri-Komoditi category. JAKOA affirms its dedication to ensuring transparent and equitable distribution processes, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the welfare and quality of life among the Orang Asli community.
