Kyrgyzstan will introduce temporary state regulation on coal prices starting September 15, 2024, for a duration of 90 days. This initiative aims to address rising coal prices and maintain accessibility for the public. The State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision will be responsible for enforcing these regulations.
Additionally, a draft resolution is being considered to prohibit coal exports via road, with exceptions at the Irkeshtam-Avtodorozhny and Torugart-Avtodorozhny checkpoints. If enacted, the resolution will take effect on September 20, 2024, to mitigate supply challenges.
