Clear Blue Technologies International Inc, a leader in Smart Power solutions, has announced a significant partnership with Growth Energy, a company specializing in the development, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of clean energy power plants in Africa. The collaboration will see Clear Blue’s Esite-Micro power technology and patented Illumience Smart Power management service used to power a network of telecom sites across the continent.
This partnership aims to address the substantial cost and availability issues associated with diesel fuel in the region. As part of the initiative, Growth Energy will convert a network of cell phone towers to solar power, ensuring a cleaner and more reliable energy source for critical telecom services. The project is nearing the final stages of contract negotiations, with preparations for financing and the start of the EPC phase already in progress. Phase 1 is set to commence in 2024, with two additional phases planned, potentially amounting to $4 million in total from 2024 to 2026.
Miriam Tuerk, CEO of Clear Blue, commented, “This project highlights the broader shift across Africa from costly and polluting diesel generators to more sustainable solar energy solutions. Clear Blue’s advanced Smart Power technology has been essential in making this project feasible, meeting both uptime and performance targets.”
John Okoro, Managing Director of Growth Energy, praised Clear Blue’s technical expertise, saying, “We have been impressed with Clear Blue’s responsiveness, teamwork, and professionalism. Their knowledge of off-grid telecom systems and their innovative Esite-Micro product and Illumience Cloud management service have been crucial in meeting our performance and cost targets. Clear Blue will also support our Operation and Maintenance teams to ensure the project’s long-term success.”
